I am always looking for new things to try and I feel that I shouldn't try to make stuffed animals no more.

This one I found online through a family member. I thought I'd give it a shot.

CAP/FACE:

Round 1: Work 8 sc into a magic circle. Join with sl st to first sc. (8)

Round 2: Ch 1. Work 2 sc into each stitch around. Join with sl st to first sc. (16)

Round 3: Ch 1. *Work 1 sc into next stitch, 2 sc into next stitch.* Repeat around. Join with sl st to first sc. (24)

Round 4: Ch 1. *Work 1 sc into each of next 2 stitches, 2 sc into next stitch.* Repeat around. Join with sl st to first sc. (32)

Round 5: Ch 1. *Work 1 sc into each of next 3 stitches, 2 sc into next stitch.* Repeat around. Join with sl st to first sc. (40)

JELLYFISH STREAMERS/TENTACLES:

I found the streamers were easiest and most fun when done freeform. All of them are a little different, but I used the same basics for each one to maintain consistency. You can check out my curly cue sampler to get an idea of what each type of curl will look like. Also, you can change up the hook size for a different look. I used a G hook for the blue jellyfish and an H hook for the purple jellyfish. On each jellyfish, there are 8 tentacles of varying width and length.

Chain either 30, 40, 50, 60 or even 70.
Work 2 (or 3) sc in each chain stitch OR work 2 (or 3) hdc in each chain stitch. If you’re starting with sc, then work into 2nd chain from hook. If you’re starting with hdc, then work into 3rd chain from hook.
Now, think of this as a Choose Your Own Crochet Adventure. Continue working sc or hdc, working 2 or 3 stitches into each chain across, then fasten off, leaving a tail.

I did chain 30 for the tails. Four of them I did two rows and four I did one row. Still they curled if the four that didn't with one row I would of done another.

Baby

I am always trying new things and this one was simple for a beginner. I got the dress pattern from: http://crochetvolution.com/archives/summer-2014/sunshine-and-marmalade

At first I made Headbands. Purple, pink and yellow.

Then I made a dress. I didn't like the straps or buttons so I replaced the buttons and fixed the straps.

Then I made a diaper ruffle cover.

Now I can send this to my niece Alyssa, she's having a baby girl in Jan. 

Pink Mermaid tail

I love the afghan tail. Second time doing the mermaid tail with shells instead of crocodile stitches. Sometimes I hate the work to make the afghan for it takes forever to get it done. I like the end results the best and the smiles knowing that they loved the work involved in these beautiful projects.
I found out why this one was small instead of medium. I was using i hook and it required j hook.

Tail

I added tassels and sewn it together. Now to deliver the final product to it's owner. I hope they love it. I like the tail better than the yellow one. I feel good about this product but I will still worry till it's delivered and approved.

Head bands crochet and knitted

Been searching for some head bands for Crochet for a few days since my daughter brought it up. I found some easy ones that don't require elastic and elastic.

Here we go:

Many different patterns and I choose shells.

First of all you get elastic. I used a white band.

To make the band is pretty simple and there are tons of different patterns to choose from. I choose one I found on you tube. I love free patterns.

Hook E

I used a regular elastic hair band for the ends. 

I did a slip knot of the elastic and then sc 6

Chain 3  dc twice in third chain sc dc twice in same chain, sc skip two and dc in last chain chain 3

repeat until you have 22 shells.

last row sc on elastic 6 times like you did at the beginning. Very simple, easy and fast. This is 17" long and fits newborns.

I wrapped yarn around the middle of the band to hide the knot I made to tie the elastic together. 

I then added a flower with a button. Some use exchangeable button flowers this one I used is permanent.  I used the cluster/shell flower. The flower is optional.

Cluster stitch 12 times around

four incomplete dc in same stitch and pull through all 5 loops to make a cluster then sc around

Chain 3 dc four times in first stitch, sc in next chain dc four times around  6 shells, slip stitch and end.

Add to head band with a button and your done.

Here is a yellow one without a flower.

Not sure I like the adult green head band. I knitted the band then crocheted around to double it. I then added ends with crochet. perhaps it's the color hunter green. IDK.

Yellow Knit baby Blanket

I decided to do an experiment with knitting three sections. Not sure I like this blanket due to the three sections stitched together. It looks nice far but up close it's well to me not very pretty or I am just being to hard on myself.  Bright yellow and white.

For the sides I did shell stitches and for the top and bottom just double crochet border. 

I hated this so I got rid of it

Crochet Angel

This is so flipping cute. I had to try and make one myself. So simple. I found this online.

I can't get over how cute.

Okay so here we go:

Any hook and any size yarn.

I used red heart yarn ply 4

Hook G

I made a magic circle: Chain 4, slip stitch, chain 3

R1- 12 dc in the ring, slip stitch and chain 3

R2- 2 dc in each dc 5 Times (=10dc) Chain 3. Take the yarn off and replace with glistening silver ,if you wish to have sparkling wings. (optional) I used white.

R3- 2 dc in each dc 10 times. 

R4- ( 1dc, ch1) in each dc (=20dc) now is the wings finish, change yarn.

R5- start in 7th chain with slip stitches. Chain 1, *(2dc,ch1,2dc) * repeat *_* until you have 4 groups.

R6- ch3, * (2dc,ch1,2dc) 

R7: repeat 6

R8: Chain 3, 1 single dc, chain 1, repeat across

R9: 1sl st in 1ch,*4dc in the 1ch,* repeat *_* Across row

Then I slip stitched on the wing to make the color look like the other side and slip stitched and tied it off.

You can glue a magnet or hang on your tree or in your car.

To strengthened the angel:

Start by putting plastic on your block mat , so that the angel does not stick . I 'm using a regular plastic bag.

Mix equal parts 1 Tablespoon water and 1 Tablespoon wood glue. 

Dip the angel in the glue mixture so that it is properly soaked . Squeeze out the excess 

glue .Let dry then hang.

Crochet hat

I have been searching for awhile on a decent pattern for a crochet hat since my knitted hats are to tight and cut off circulation when an adult wears them. I wish those hats was one size fits all but alas they do not.
I finally found one and made this hat in 1 day. I made it a bit big but it has many different styles you can do with the hat.

Zig Zag for Cassie

I am making another Zig Zag, only this time it's not going to be back loops only this one is going to be single all throughout the blanket. Colors: Light Blue, White, Med Purple and Panther pink. So I got to line 40 and started the new color panther pink.

I can't wait to see 10 lines of panther pink. It's pretty.

Blanket on row 105

I am on row 140, I am considering on putting edges to help make the quilt not curl I don't know though still debating.

So I decided not to do edges or a border and left it as is. I finished at row 190. I hope it will be long enough.

couldn't fit it in the photo. The edges kept curling I hope it can relax after a few good uses.

Doilies

 I had gotten a request to make some Doilies. She had asked for one yet doilies with this ply is so easy and fun to make. I used red heart ply 4 and this is how they turned out. I used three patterns online and one my own design.

Stars. I wanted to put them together but couldn't get them to fit right due to them being different sizes. So they can be used as coasters. 

I left this one on parchment paper so I could transfer it back and forth from the box. This one is suppose to be a flower. Not really sure I like this one.

This one I used four different stitches. Single, double, popcorn, and scallop. I used my own design. It turned out very pretty. I think I'll do another one with bright yellow and white. Still considering.

This one is the oval and found the pattern online. The pattern wanted me to do 15 lines. I reduced it to 8 lines instead with a scallop stitch around.

Here is the last and final doily I have made.

no pattern for this one, just random. I wanted to do a popcorn in the middle and this one came out better than I expect. Very pleased.

Crocodile shawl done

Sweet I finally finished this purple, black and blue crocodile shawl. Took me forever and kept running out materials or other issues that kept me from finishing. I finished 11-13-15. I gave Robyn one already. I may trade her for this one instead which was originally meant for her anyway. I don't know but I am glad it's done. I can now relax for awhile.
